I do not know the wood for sure, but I am pretty sure it is Mahogany. This door is one of a set of 13 matching doors from a Naples, Florida estate. About 30 years ago they paid $1600.00 per door not including the Bronze hardware ($800.00 per set) for a total they paid of $2400.00 a door (13 x $2400.00 = $31,200.00 worth of doors). The back sides are plain without decoration or carving. The high bidder gets all thirteen doors for the price asked including the hinges and hardware. If you want less than that quantity I will break up the set for $500.00 per door (shipping via Greyhound included to be picked up by you at the nearest location that accepts freight). They are all 36 inches wide. They vary in height from about 79.35 to 80.35 inches. The doors are is in good condition with some minimal wear from age, use and handling (the photographs in the listing show detailed views of the condition of all of our auction items). I would estimate the age of this item to be about 30 +/- years old. I will refund $750.00 of the purchase price if you arrange and pay for your own shipping of these items (or pick them up in person).
