Current Lot A fine Russian silver-gilt and cloisonné and en-plein enamel casket 11th Artel, Moscow, 1908-1917 of flared rectangular form, decorated with foliate sprays and geometric designs, the pierced swing handles with flowerhead and dot motifs, the hinged cover enamelled en-plein with 'The Unveiling of the Bride' after Konstantin Egorovich Makovsky, the border with green twist stems and flower heads, flanked by formal floral friezes, swing clasp; the interior of the lid with translucent turquoise guilloche enamel over wavy engine-turning 15.5 cm wide Provenance: Christie's New York, The Greenfield Collection of Russian Enamels, 20th October 1998, lot 176 Sotheby's New York, 13th June 1990, lot 352 Sotheby's New York, 15th December 1987 Literature: Gerard Hill, Faberge and the Russian Master Goldsmiths, New York, 1989, No. 111 illus.
