The porthole swings out when the lower wingnuts are loosened and disengaged. Has three predrilled holes for easy wall mounting. Recalls the sailing ships and navy vessels of yesteryear. Another nice use for this mirror is covering something on a wall, like a wall safe as the mirror swings open ( 19 1/4 in dia. opening ) Would made a wonderful addition to any marine collection, or gift for the nautical enthusiast. The portholes we sell are decorative only, not for use outside to protect from a storm. This brass porthole mirror measures approximately 24 (23 1/2) inches in diameter and 3 1/2 inches deep at wing nuts. Mirror 16 in dia.
