Description
Circa 1830 (Edo) 9 5/8”, 11”, 12”. Ko-Imari Nishikide Tsuru-Sennin. Three beautiful double bottomed bowls with a light and dark blue gold-trimmed floral centerpiece surrounded by an alternating strip of light blue glaze geometric pattern and a red and gold leaf pattern. There are various beautifully painted scenes around the inside of the bowl. One pictures an old man flying on the back of a crane with colorful hills in the background. Further on a red reserve can be seen with an individual holding a jar, two huge cranes on a colorful hillside, various other depictions, and what appears to be a signature, a dragon, and Chinese writing. There is a beautiful alternating rim pattern which is the same on the inside and outside of the bowl. It consists of florals and a young figure dancing among the foliage. The same figures that are on the inside are also painted on the outside with some slight changes. These fabulous bowls are in absolute mint condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, or restorations. They show no wear whatsoever. These would truly be a fantastic addition to your Old Imari collection. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list!
