A major artist and 'ambassador' to the art, Kananginak was one of the 4 original Dorset printmakers in 1958 under James Houston's tutelage. Since then, Kananginak, skilled in all facets and mediums of Inuit Art, has been a veritable powerhouse in bringing fine and vibrant prints to the market. Elected a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts in 1980, Kanaginak is possibly one of the most collected Inuit Artists today. As seen by his extensive list of achievements and exhibitions, this artist has truly stood out amongst his peers during his career. The bird theme has always been one of his most popular.. The enclosed, dated 1978 is entitled "Inikutailaq". Printed on acid free Kuzo paper, the work is unframed. In excellent condition.
