See more about 'ANTIQUE BATTLESHIP MAINE ORNATE METAL MIRROR COAT RACK' Description Remember the Maine...wow what a conversation piece!  This auction is for a decorative entry mirror with three ornate coat & hat hooks that commemorate the destruction of the Battleship Maine in the Havanna Harbour 1898. It measures a little over 18 inches square and the 3 hooks protrude about 5 inches.  The very thick scalloped mirror is 12 inches square of very thick glass that has a ghostly appearance with a few scratches. It will be removed for shipping but is easily replaced by bending the pins that hold it in the inner frame. Each corner features three members of the crew Dewey, Hobson and Sampson while the bottom corner depicts the Battleship Maine. I am not sure of the type of metal, possibly sheet copper or brass that has been embossed and added to a wood backing.  The ornate paper backing and sturdy hanging chain have been replaced and it is in "ready to use" condition! ACTUAL shipping has been calculated for you based on the weight and zipcode, however please be sure to add the insurance if you want it.
